A loan of $525 helped to buy spare parts for his mill.

Carlos Antonio's story

63-year-old Carlos Antonio lives in his own home in a less well-off area of the country. He lives with his life partner who is 60 years old and a [female] friend who is 50 years old. For a long time, he has worked hard to get his beloved family ahead in life.

Carlos own a mill for grinding 'nixtamal' (corn). The mill is set up in his home. Many people come to him to grind corn into cornmeal that they later use to make delicious tortillas, a basic foodstuff in this country's diet. Carlos has gained the trust of many people in his area as he is a charismatic, committed and honest man. He has worked his whole life in this business and it is how he has earned his daily bread. Lately, Carlos has noticed that his mill needs servicing and some spare parts because, as a result of the use that it gets, these parts wear out easily. For this reason, he is requesting a loan from INTEGRAL to invest in his business and buy spare parts so that his mill works properly as it is his main work tool. He trusts in God and his work and believes that he will manage to improve his customer service which will enable him to keep his business going longer and continue receiving the rewards that he has been receiving for a long time. In this way, he hopes to continue providing his household with the support they need.
