Mariam is a married woman with two children, both of whom graduated from school. She lives at her own house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and paraffin.
For the past three years she has operated a retail shop business, selling to neighbors and passersby. Her major challenge is the high cost transportation incurred in her business. She dreams of having her own wholesale shop in the future.
With KES 30,000 she wants to purchase bags of sugar and maize flour for resale. She decided to join Yehu to access loans.
