Tengiz is a farmer from the village Dimi, Imereti Region, West Georgia. He is 59 years old and lives with his wife, Rusudan.
Tengiz is retired; he is in good health and leads the agricultural business of the family, which is the main source of the income for them. Tengiz and Rusudan have 2 milking cows. Rusudan produces, on average, 40 kg traditional Georgian cheese. She sells it at the local market. Also, the family has 3 calves. Along with the above mentioned, they own a vineyard with 2000 vine plants. Tengiz produces wine and sells it at the local market.
Tengiz has requested credit for purchasing one more milk cow and expansion of the vineyard. He will plant additional vines and produce more grapes. As a result of credit, the income of the family will increase and they will be able to sell more cheese and wine.
Tengiz plans to reinvest part of the increased income into the same businesses. The other part of the loan will be used for purchasing new household goods to improve family's living conditions.
