Rabiha is a 43-year-old Lebanese married woman. She is living with her husband and only child who is attending school. After having her first child, she decided to help her husband with the household expenses. So she started to work as a private teacher in her home. Today, she is requesting to borrow $1,500 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to prepare a special education room outfitted with the needed teaching materials and supplies to welcome students appropriately. She notes that she will also need the loan to pay her daughter’s school fees to allow her to pursue her education properly. She is very positive and willing to apply for additional Kiva loans in the future.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
