Ammar is a 36-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and only child who is attending school. He has 10 years of experience working as a farmer; and in 2006, he started running his own business. He grows a wide variety of vegetables using large plastic tents. These agricultural tents allow him to better monitor his product’s quality throughout the year. Today, he is requesting to borrow $1,000 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to install new plastic tents on his farm. This will be his second Kiva loan.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
