Gela is from the village of Kveda Simoneti in the Imereti Region. He is 34 years old, married, and lives in the village with his family: wife Nana, their 7-year-old daughter, 2-year-old son, and 76-year-old mother (retired). Gela’s daughter goes to school.
Gela has a grocery store located near the historical museum in the village. Because of the good location, along with clients from the village population, Gela gets customers from the visitors of the museum as well.
Gela’s wife is managing the agricultural business of the family. In particular, they have 4 milk cows. She produces cheese and sells it on the Kutaisi (a nearby town) open market. She also grows greens on 0.05 hectare of land and sells them on the same market. The total average monthly income of the family is 800 Laris, including the pension of Gela’s mother.
Gela requested credit in order to increase the stock sold in the store. He will increase the assortment of the products in the store. He expects that the amount of clients will increase starting in September, as groups of schools and high-school students from various parts of the country will be visiting the museum. Sales of the store will increase and the income of the family will grow. It will impact positively the living conditions of the family.
