Valentina is a married woman with two children; one attends school while the other one is still too young for school. She lives at a rental house that neither has electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.
For the past five years, she has operated a tailoring business, selling from home to her neighbours and passersby. She faces a major challenge of seasonality in her business. Valentina dreams of expanding her business to meet her customers demand in the future.
With the Kshs 30,000 she wants to purchase a sewing machine and cloth materials. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
