Nyuga is a married woman who owns a house that neither has electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.
For the past two years, she has operated a food stall business, selling from home to her neighbours and passersby. She dreams of expanding her business and establishing a restaurant in the future.
With the Kshs 15,000 she wants to purchase bundles of wheat flour, sugar and cooking fat. She decided to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
