Bintiali is a married woman with two children, both of whom attend school. She lives at a rental house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.
For the past three years, she has operated a fish business, selling at the market to her neighbors and market dwellers. She faces a major challenge of competition from other fish operators in the market. She dreams of establishing a fish selling shop in the future.
With the Kshs 20,000, she wants to purchase bundles of fish and cooking oil. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
