In order to make their farms more profitable and to increase cultivable areas for better production, the members of group Djeyesse IV have decided to join Soro Yiriwaso’s lending program this year; they are on their first agricultural loan.
Kadiatou S., who is standing in the middle, plans on using her loan to buy quality seeds, small equipment and agricultural cultivation intrants from the great market in Bla. After the rainy season, the harvest is stored for a while to increase in value before being sold wholesale for cash (sometimes retailed) at the great markets in Bla, Yangasso and neighboring towns, to a clientele generally coming from the larger cities.
After selling their crops, the group’s members are counting on an individual profit of 20,000 to 45,000 FCFA, which will be used to repay the loan’s interests and for the day-to-day expenses of their families.

In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
