Las Colmenas Group
In this Group: Leticia Veronica, Teresa De Jesus, Maria Luserva, Yareni
The group “Las Colmenas” (The Beehives) consists of Leticia, Maria Luselva, Yareni, and Teresa. They live in a community in the southern part of the country and earn their livelihoods by selling chickens and clothing.

Sra. Teresa lives in a very beautiful place that celebrates the festival for the Blessed Virgin of Catarina during the month of November. She is married to Sr. Adán and they have two children who are under their responsibility.

Teresa is requesting a loan to invest in the purchase of chickens that she will sell both live and butchered. She has been in business for one month and says that she is doing well because she has seen good results.

Teresa was inspired to start this business because she feels alone in the area where she lives, which is quite some distance from the nearest place that sells chickens. For this reason, she decided to go into business for herself. What she wants most is that this loan and her business give her the ability to continue generating a good income for her family.

The group “Las Colmenas” is grateful to Fundación Realidad for the loan that was issued.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
