Sughran Mai is 44 years old, married and has three sons. Her youngest son is studying in 9th class while the other two sons work to contribute to the family financially.
Sughran Mai's husband has a livestock business. He has some buffaloes from which he gets milk and sells it to customers in the community for a profit. His rates are very fair and he also believes in selling good quality milk. This is why he has a good number of customers.
Sughran Mai is a housewife and performs her household duties, but in her spare time she also helps her husband in his business. She has applied for a loan from Kiva partner, Asasah, to improve her husband’s business. He will buy another buffalo with the loan amount. This will help him to increase his business' milk productivity and help him serve more customers and increase profits. He has been operating his business for the past ten years and Sughran Mai is hopeful that, after the loan investment, his business will expand further.
