Mary is 42 years old and lives in the town of Masidi in the Mbarara region of Uganda. She is married and has 3 children. Two of her children are currently in school. Mary has a business of a small retail shop that sells household goods like plates, which she has had for 3 years.

To help expand her business, Mary has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase plates and cups for resale. With the help of the loan from BRAC, Mary hopes to generate greater profits and buy food for her family. In the future, Mary hopes to expand her business. Mary is a member of BRAC’s Small enterprise (SEP) program which has helped her prospects for the future by improving her business.
