Mwanamkuu is a married woman with one boy who attends school. She lives in a rental house with electricity but no running water and her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees. For the past two years, Mwanamkuu has operated a restaurant and her customers are neighbors and community members. Her major business challenges are competition and seasonality. Mwanamkuu decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
Mwanamkuuis requesting a 40,000 KES loan to purchase wheat flour, maize flour, rice, and cooking oil. In the future, she dreams of expanding her restaurant and establishing another one.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
