Absatou
Ms. Absatou is a single 33-year old woman living in Senegal. She is a waitress in a local restaurant, but at the same time she works as a vendor. Since three years ago, she has been selling shoes, perfume, necklaces, traditional "boubou" outfits, cosmetic powder and make-up. She has chosen this activity out of necessity, in order to be able to take care of her expenses and make ends meet. She is a member of a branch of U-IMCEC since May 2007. She has already repaid two prior loans. She is seeking a credit of 250,000 in order to buy merchandise in Gambia. After returning, she will buy some additional goods that she will be able to resell in Senegal. This financing will allow her to bolster her working capital and better develop her business.

Mademoiselle Absatou est une jeune célibataire de 33 ans qui vit au Sénégal. Elle est serveuse dans un restaurant de la place, mais en même temps elle exerce l’activité de commerce . Ainsi elle s’adonne depuis 3 ans déjà a la vente de chaussures, parfums, colliers, boubous traditionnels, poudriers et maquillage. Elle a choisi cette activité par nécessité afin qu’elle puisse prendre en charge ses besoins personnels et arrondir les fins de mois. Elle est sociétaire de l’un des guichets de l’U-IMCEC depuis mai 2007. Elle a déjà remboursé deux prêts antérieurs. Elle sollicite un crédit de 250 000 prévu pour l’achat de marchandises qu’elle va aller vendre en Gambie. A son retour elle prévoit d’acheter d’autres produits qu’elle va pouvoir vendre au Sénégal. Ce financement lui permettra de renforcer son fond de roulement et de mieux développer son activité de commerce.
