The committee of women named "Renacer" ("To Be Reborn"), came about on the initiative of one of the members, who had participated in the program as part of another group. After a discussion with the counselor about forming a new group, she brought together 20 women, who are all friends and neighbors in the city. They work together in the program with a lot of pleasure and much effort and care, in a cooperative and mutually supportive way.

Señora Ilda works selling all types of clothing, which earns her a good income. She comments that thanks to this work she has been able to support herself and her family, and that through her efforts she wants to provide her family with a better style of life without deprivations.

One of her goals is to have some premises to sell her clothes. As for her customers, she says that she has many sales and orders that she wants to fulfill.

For this reason, she is requesting the loan so that she can use it to be able to buy more seasonal clothing, and in this way meet her customers' demand.

She is grateful to the Fundación for the opportunity it's giving her, as obtaining the loan will be a great help to her in her undertakings.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
