Saliou is a young married man of 31 years. He lives in Senegal, and has lived there since he was young. He works in transportation, and has been driving a small public transportation bus for seven years. He chose this profession because he always dreamed of owning his own transportation vehicle. For him, the best part is the profitable aspect of the business, which enables him to meet his personal needs. He has been a member at one of the UIMCEC savings and credit unions since September, 2006. He is asking for a loan of 300,000 francs to carry out repair work on his bus, which was recently in a collision. This financing will prevent him from being forced to stop working, and enable him to continue to make his business profitable.
