Mrs. Ban is 29 years old and her husband is 28 years old. This sweet couple regularly thinks about how to make more income. Currently, both of them are farmers. They have been in the farming business for five years.
The couple has one child, who is dependent on them. To earn a living in good situation, Mrs. Ban and her husband would to request some funding through HKL's partnership with Kiva to purchase seeds, fertilizers and other materials supporting her farming business. This is her first loan cycle with HKL's partner Kiva. In the future, Mrs. Ban will send her child to study for a high degree like the rich family in her community.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
