Juana is married and has 4 children. She is a member of the “Santa Rosa de Lima” communal bank made up of 7 members who work in diverse activities as merchants. For 15 years, Juana has worked selling clothing (t-shirts, pants, shirts, and blouses). She started the business because Juana has 4 children and her husband's salary wasn't enough to cover basic expenses such as food, schooling, and utilities. That's why Juana started selling clothes door to door and after a while she opened a store. Juana tells us that it wasn't easy getting what she has today. Thanks to her hard work and dedication, she has been able to have better income. Her children have gone to school, she built a house and her family has a better quality of life. In order to keep growing, she has asked for a new loan to buy merchandise (t-shirts, pants, shirts and blouses). We know that Juana will meet her goals with a lot of work and dedication and the loans from Edaprospo will help her.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
