Thérèse is a farmer and a member of the Urumuri groupe. Born in Rwanda, Thérèse is a 54-year old widow and the mother of 5 children between the ages of 7 and 19, three of whom go to school. She herself had 4 years of primary school. This is her second loan cycle with ACB. She will use the loan to buy 400 kilograms of potatoes and 50 kilograms of chemical fertilizer, and to pay the manual labourers. In order to be able to pay for the education of her children and give her family a better future, Thérèse's goals include growing her business and she plans to buy more fields so that she can increase potato production. She would eventually like to become a large, reputable seller and distributor of potatoes in her region.

Elle a trois enfants qui vont à l’école, elle est né au Rwanda.son niveau d’éducation est 4 ans de primaire. C’est son deuxième cycle de prêt avec ACB. Elle va utiliser le prêt pour acheter 400kgs de pommes de terre, 50kgs d’engrais chimique, et paye la main d’œuvre. Sa stratégie pour la croissance de l’affaire est d’acheter des champs pour augmenter la production des pommes des terres. Dans l’avenir il voudrait devenir un grand commerçante connue dans sa région et distributeur des pommes de terre partout dans sa région et agrandir son business, elle voudrait éduquer ses enfants et prépare un meilleur avenir pour sa famille

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
