Aynura is 30; she is married with two children. She breeds cattle and sells them for meat profit. As veal is very popular in Azerbaijan, Aynura thinks she chose the proper way to earn money. Her monthly profit is about $150. She applied for a 1,000 Azerbaijani New Manat (AZN) loan to purchase two cattle and fodder. She already took a loan from AqroInvest and completed it successfully.
Aqroinvest Credit Union was founded by a group of 32 Imishli farmers in 2001, and has grown to become one of the largest credit unions in Azerbaijan. It boasts a portfolio of nearly $5 million and is wholly owned by its more than 3,500 borrowers, as of December 2011.
