Once informed about the program, she managed to gather together 15 women who are now working together very well in their 8th loan cycle; this group has been working in the program with great solidarity and cooperation.

Dina has a business selling garments, and through this work she has been able to get ahead and support her family. She comments that she always has customers who request the items that she sells. One of her goals is to have her own store where she could display the garments that she has, and in this way attract more customers. She is considered to be an enterprising woman who is tenacious and very responsible.

Dina requests a loan to buy winter clothing, so that in this way she can fill her customer's orders. She is grateful to the Fundación for providing her with this opportunity.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
