Dzame is a widow with seven children, all of whom have graduated from school. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and water bills.
For the past 15 years, she has operated a quarry business, selling wholesale to constructors. She dreams of establishing a goat meat business in the future.
With a Kshs 30,000 loan Dzame wants to purchase stones for resale. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
