Georges is a 61-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife, three children and one brother. He has owned a metal shop since 1976. His job consists in cutting up metal in order to give those shapes as the clients ask for.
Getting older, Georges must move on with his business operation in order to earn good revenue as he is the only income source of the family and must also pay his only employee’s salary. Today, he is requesting to borrow $1200 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase additional materials needed. In the future, he is planning to improve his business and expand his operations still further.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
