Mrs. Paulina Maria is 44 years old. She left school after fifth grade. She has three children, two of whom still economically depend on her. She lives in the Mache district, Otuzco province, La Libertad state.

She opened up a small store at her house where she sells groceries such as sugar, rice, oil, noodles, etc. She also raises guinnea pigs, sheeps and chicken, which she sells on the Julcán fair on Sundays.

She also purchases cows and pigs to sell their meat at the Mache district. Her storage was very small and she had very few products for sale. Thanks to the loan she got from the “Women at Work” comunal bank she was able to expand it. With her first loan was of S/. 300.00 she purchased rice, sugar and noodles. With the S/.1,000.00, which she will repay in four months, she will purchase 18 small pigs to fatten them and sell them alive or sacrifice them.

Her dream is to be a great entrepeneur, to sell wholesale and regular groceries around Mache and Trujillo.
