Betty Beatriz's story

Betty is a member of the Communal Bank “Mujeres al Progreso de Juli” which is located in the District of Juli, Chucuito Province, Department of Puno. She is 17 years old, in a common-law marriage, and has one child. Betty has a high school education.

She is a new member who recently joined Manuela Ramos. Betty is requesting a loan in the amount of 500 PEN and will invest the money in her businesses of selling handicrafts and selling fish. Her loan will be invested exclusively in fishing nets, as well as cloth and wool in different colors for her embroideries. Betty says that she and her husband work together.

Her dream is to own a home and improve her business. What she likes most about the Communal Bank are the convenience of the loan and interest she earns from the savings.
