Zein is a 40-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and three young children who are still attending school. He has owned a car repair shop since 1987. During those years, he was able to improve his skills and extend his knowledge in this occupation, but also suffered from bad work circumstances. Today, he is requesting to borrow $1,800 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase added tools and supplies for his business. He’s sure that with the new equipment, he will be able to better serve his customers.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
