Evelyn Milena is 26 years old and lives with her husband and two children in a small community called Trinchera de Pital located in the Alajuela province. The principal activities in this area are raising cattle and farming, it is known for its pineapple crop, which is sold mainly in the international markets. Because of this, the development of this community has been increasing in the last years thus increasing the demand of products and generating more opportunities for work.
Her truck is her work tool and she provides her services to the neighbors in the community which are very satisfied with the quality of her work.
Evelyn is currently requesting a micro loan of 500,000 colones for the purchase of parts to repair her truck and also to enlarge and reinforce her premises.
With these investments she expects to grow her project and be able to better serve her customers. All of this will help to improve her quality of life.
Dona Evelyn is a member of the Community Venture of Successful Women of Trinchera de Pital, one of the 110 organization members of EDESA in Costa Rica. This is her first loan and with this she expects to continue growing both personally and financially, and also actively participate in the credit organization in her community.

Evelyn Milena es una señora de 26 años de edad quien vive con su esposo y sus dos hijos, en una pequeña comunidad llamada la Trinchera de Pital localizada en la provincia de Alajuela; cuyas principales actividades productivas son la ganadería y la agricultura, donde destaca el cultivo de la pina; siendo estas comercializadas principalmente en los mercados internacionales. Por esta razón, el desarrollo de la comunidad ha venido creciendo en los últimos anos generando una mayor demanda de productos y servicios brindando mayores oportunidades de trabajo.
Ella tiene como herramienta de trabajo su camión y brinda sus servicios a los vecinos de la comunidad, quienes se muestran muy satisfechos por la calidad.
Actualmente dona Evelyn está solicitando un microcrédito de 500,000.00 (quinientos mil colones), para la compra de repuestos para mejora de su camión además de ampliar y reforzar su local.
Con esta inversión espera que su proyecto crezca más, para poder atender a mas clientes y ofrecerles mejores servicio. Todo esto ayudara a mejorar sus condiciones de vida.
Dona Evelyn es socia de la Empresa Comunal de Mujeres al Éxito de la Trinchera de Pital, una de las 110 organizaciones socias de EDESA en Costa Rica. Este será su primer préstamo y con el espera continuar creciendo a nivel personal y económico, además de participar activamente en la organización de crédito en su comunidad.

As a small and relatively young MFI located in Costa Rica, EDESA has difficulty attracting other sources of capital. Many other microfinance funders do not work in Costa Rica, because overall the country is too rich. However, organizations such as EDESA work with extremely marginalized populations in Costa Rica that really need the access to capital that EDESA provides. By funding EDESA, Kiva lenders are allowing the organization to grow and reach more people than they otherwise would be able to reach.
