Paula has been selling fruit and vegetables at the Managua market for several years. This has been the way that she has managed to support her family.
Paula only has her working capital, and it does not cover the purchase of zinc sheeting, beams, and nails, etc. These items are to change the roof of her house because when it rains water comes in everywhere. The zinc sheeting is in very bad condition because of how old it is.
She is grateful for the support from Afodenic through a Kiva loan. With the loan she will be able to buy the materials she needs to do the job.

About Housing Loans
Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
