Mwanza is a married man with thirteen children, all of whom attend school. He owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. His greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.
For the past three years, he has operated a retail shop business, selling to his neighbors and passersby. He dreams of expanding his business in the future.
With the loan for Kshs 40,000, Mwanza wants to purchase bundles of wheat flour, maize flour, rice and sugar. He decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost his business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
