Mwanamkasi is a married woman with three children; one attends school while two are still too young for school. She owns a house that neither has electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.
For the past four years, she has operated a carpentry business, selling to her neighbours. She also does farming, her other source of income. Her major challenge is seasonality in the business. She dreams of establishing another business in the future.
With the Kshs 10,000 she wants to expand her business to sell wholesale and purchase lumber. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
