Teopista is 38 years old and lives in the town of Kalisizo in the Masaka region of Uganda. She is married and has six children, five of whom are currently in school. For the past four years Teopista has operated a market where she sells a variety of essential commodities like soap and sugar.

Teopista is a member of BRAC Uganda’s small enterprise program. To help expand her business, she is requesting a loan of 2,500,000 UGX from BRAC. The loan will be used to purchase more of these commodities to sell.

Through the loan Teopista hopes to generate greater profits and pay the school fees for her children. In the future Teopista hopes to expand her business so as to employ more workers.
