Madona is 49 years old. She lives in the village Kvishilori with her husband, Guram, and their son Abessalom, who is 30 years old. Although Abessalom has health problems and receives a pension from the government, he still helps with the family’s farming activities.
Madona is the leading businesswoman of the family. She grows flowers in her garden and sells them in Tskaltubo, a nearby town. She also has two milk cows and produces cheese to sell at the same market. The average income of the family is 375 GEL.
Madona is requesting a loan to expand her dairy farm and purchase a milk cow which will help increase her cheese production by 50%. This will significantly increase the family’s income. Once she has more income, Madona plans to renovate her house as it is old and needs improvement.
