Anis is a 51-year-old Lebanese single man living with one parent. Despite his older age, he is still running his business, which he established in 1988. He is a professional car mechanic and has more than 25 years of experience in the same field. His work specializes in car electric repairs. Today, he is asking to borrow $1,200 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase needed equipment for his shop. He confirms that thanks to the loan, he will be able to serve more customers and therefore, earn a higher income. This will be his third Kiva loan and it’s positive to learn that he has indeed increased his business productivity and income since taking the previous loans. He was a very punctual client, paying on his scheduled dates.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
