Edith
Edith is 38 years old and lives in the town of Kalerwe, in the Kampala east region of Uganda. She is married and has three children, all of whom are currently in school. For the past ten years, Edith has run a business selling charcoal. She is a member of BRAC’s small enterprise (SEP) program, which has helped her prospects for the future by improving her business.

Edith is requesting a 1,500,000 UGX loan from BRAC Uganda to purchase charcoal to resell. With the help of her loan, she hopes to generate greater profits and buy food for her family. In the future, Edith hopes to buy a forest of her own so that she can supply her own charcoal.
