Gai is a 51-year-old married woman with four children, two sons and two daughters. Her husband is a taxi driver. Gai lives with her family in Ho Chi Minh City.
Gai supports her family by earning an income raising and selling pigs, frogs, chickens and ducklings. She has done this since 2000. She would like to take out a loan to buy animal feed and more animals to increase the size of her business. She hopes that this will enable her to earn a higher income, improve her family's living conditions, and cover the education costs of her children.
