Paul is a hardworking and hopeful 29-year-old businessman. He is married and blessed with two children, one of whom is in school. For the last eight months, he has been selling omena (small dried fish) so as to make ends meet. He makes extra shillings by selling firewood and cereals. Previously, he was employed. He wants, in the next five years, to have expanded his business and employ other people. He is requesting a loan of 20,000 Kenya shillings to buy a refrigerator to store omena (small dried fish).
