Mrs. Lo, 44, is a married woman. She has no children.
She intends to use the loan to buy feed concentrate to fatten pigs. She has several pigs and intends to feed them concentrate to fatten them up more quickly. She wants her animals to reach the ideal weight to sell them in the local and nearby markets.
She wants to earn higher profits for her family and her parents’ well-being, and to grow her pig-raising project. This is her first loan. She has had no previous loans from the state banks either. Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
