Sarun is 63 years old and earns about $7 a day by selling vegetables. She is a single mother with two children who are 26 and 23 years old. Each of her children works in a garment factory and earns about $3 a day. Every month, the family has to spend $100 on food, $5 on electricity, $20 on transportation and $20 on other expenses. Sarun is applying for a loan for $700 to buy a motorbike for her daughters to use when traveling to work. In the future, she would like to help one of her daughters go into business for herself by opening a small tailoring shop.
