Leang is 32 years old and married. She has two school-aged children.
She works very hard to provide for her family. Leang has run a retail store in the Siem Reap province of Cambodia where she sells a variety of items such as rice, sugar, soap and other grocery items like snacks and noodles.
Leang is requesting a loan from Kiva in order to buy additional items to sell, including milk and groceries. In the future, she would like to save money to expand her business.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
