Laila Yvonne
View original language description ↓
In March, 1989, before Laila was married, she began selling well-known brands of cosmetics and clothing to her friends and family because there wasn't enough money to cover expenses at home. She later married and left the business, but once her children began growing, she was faced with paying school expenses that her husband's earnings couldn't cover. In 2002, she turned again to sales but this time selling roast chickens on weekends and cakes and tacos during the week. Little by little, she's built a following in the neighborhood.

Now Laila is asking for a US$550 loan, to be repaid in 5 months, with which she can buy ingredients like meat, bread, tortillas, pastry dough, green vegetables, condiments, seasoning, etc., along with things like dishes, pans, spoons, "comales" (a traditional griddle for making tortillas), etc. With your help, Laila will be able to improve her business and help her husband pay their 2 children's school expenses.
