Catia Libeth is an ambitious young woman from San Juan, district La banda de Shilcayo, province and department San Martin. Two years ago Catia started an internet café to help her family earn more money. She started the business with one computer and a table in the front space of her house. She now has four computers and a little stand where she sells candy, phone cards, and computer accessories.
Catia is 24 years old, married, and has two young children. Her husband is very supportive and helps run the business when she is busy. Being a mother, wife, and business woman can often be difficult but she organizes her time and works very hard. Catia never had the opportunity to study to become a professional so she is very happy to have her business. She especially enjoys working from home where she gets to spend time with her children. When her children are old enough Catia hopes to send her children to University.
Catia’s internet café is popular and in high demand. She is requesting a loan of s/ 1,400 to invest into her business and to repay over 6 months. With the loan she will buy a transformer and an electrical facilities. The more services she provides, the more success she experience. She would one day like to have ten computers, some printers, and scanners. Catia is a member of the Las Margaritas community bank who also supports her decision to request this loan.
