Bintihamisi is a married woman with two children, one of whom attends school while one is still young for school. She lives at a rental house that has electricity but not piped water.
For the past year, she has operated a pre-school for young children. Her potential customers are children from the neighboring community. She faces a major challenge of seasonality in her business. She dreams of establishing a permanent school in the future.
With the KES 40,000, she wants to renovate the classrooms and increase the number of classrooms to accommodate upper classes. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
