Beatrice is a married woman with two children, one of whom attends school while the other has graduated from school. She owns a house that has electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is school fees.
For the past ten years, Beatrice has operated a poultry business, selling from home to her neighbors and passers-by. She faces the major challenge of seasonality in her business. Her potential customers are restaurant operators and passers-by. Beatrice dreams of becoming self-reliant in the future.
With this 60,000 KES loan, Beatrice wants to renovate her chicken house and purchase more chicks. She decided to join Kiva partner, Yehu, to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
