Khodor is a 37-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and two school-aged children. He has been working in the agriculture field for the past 15 years. In 1999, he purchased a plot of land where he started to cultivate all types of vegetables according to the season. He has one part-time employee helping him with the farming work. Today, he is asking to borrow $1,000 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase needed supplies such as fertilizers and seeds. This is his second Kiva loan and he has been very reliable with his repayments. He estimates that with the coming harvest, his profits will increase.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
