Heshima Group
In this Group: Sikitu, Rehema, Vumilia, Kasiwa, Francoise, Furaha
Sikitu, our client, is the leader of the business group "Heshima". She is 28 years old, an entrepreneur, married, and the mother of four children, who are all students. She sells meat (pork) and is a partner in a butcher shop. Her husband is also a butcher. She sells to the public and has been in this business for three years.

However, Sikitu just completed nine loan cycles with Hekima. This new loan must serve to provide her with three pigs for slaughter. In addition, her ambition is to educate her children and to buy a plot of land on which to build easily.

Our client thanks Hekima for its actions in favor of poor women who are excluded from traditional banks. It is appropriate to note that the business group "Heshima" is restricted to six women.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
