Comlan Gratien, 46, lives in Bénin. He is married to a housewife named Jeanne. The couple have two children, both enrolled in school, and both under their roof.

Comlan Gratien did not attend school very much. To support himself and his children, he learned the trade of welding. He has been working at this trade for about 12 years. He buys his welding materials in a town in Bénin. Wishing to satisfy his clientele and grow his turnover and thus his income, he is requesting his second loan together with the members of his group, KPEDETIN. The first loan was correctly reimbursed.

Le groupe KPEDETIN est composé de trois personnes qui habitent le même quartier. C'est la deuxième fois que ce groupe sollicite l'aide financier de ALIDé, afin d'élever le niveau de leur activité. Le représentant du groupe, du nom de Comlan Gratien est celui qui a la main levée sur la photo. Comlan Gratien est âgé de 46 ans et vit au Bénin. Comlan Gratien est marié à une ménagère du nom de Jeanne. Le couple a deux enfants tous scolarisés et à leur charge. Comlan Gratien a très peu fréquenté l'école. Pour subvenir à ses besoins et à ceux de ses enfants, Comlan Gratien a appris le métier de soudure. Comlan Gratien mène cette activité depuis douze ans ennvirons. Comlan Gratien s’approvisionne en matériaux de soudure dans l’une des villes du Bénin. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle et pour accroître son chiffre d’affaires et son revenu Comlan Gratien sollicite ensemble avec les autres membres du groupe KPEDETIN, un deuxième crédit. Le premier crédit a été bien remboursé.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
