A loan of $1,050 helped buy clay, nacazcol and firewood to make comales and clay pots.

Digna Gloris's story

Digna lives with her mother, daughter, and 13-year old granddaughter. She works making and selling cookware. She learned this business from her mother, who taught her how to work with clay from a very young age. She works from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. The difficult part of this business is when she sometimes does not have the supplies she needs nor the money to buy them.

She is asking for a loan to buy clay, nacazcol, and firewood. She needs these materials to make comales (skillets for making tortillas) and pots and in this way she can make more and increase sales. Through the years, and with a lot of work, she has been able to help her family get ahead. Today their economic condition is stable thanks to her work in handicrafts.
