Ibra
Proudly seated in his sewing workshop surrounded by his sewing machine and pieces of multi-colored cloth spread out on the floor, this borrower is a father who has come a long way. In fact, after 10 years of apprenticeship in this profession, he set up his own business with just one sewing machine lent to him by his sister. It was only after three years of hard work that he acquired his own machine for 90,000 F. Today, he owns a store which serves at a workshop and a showroom, and he has 5 machines and one electric generator to get him through power outages. He is married and the father of three children. Each month he pays for rent, food, healthcare and schooling. Since he became involved with l’IMCEC, he has received two loans. He is now requesting a third loan of 500,000 FCFA for the purchase of 20 cases of silk fabric, 20 meters of basin (cotton) riche fabric and two bolts of lining. The profits made from this financing will allow him to better equip his shop and to recruit personnel, and also to help him reach his goal of establishing a tailoring business in his town.
