Veronica, age 50, earns a living by selling deliciously cooked meat dishes in her "carenderia." She has a passion for cooking and has been engaged in her business for the past five years. She earns PHP 7,000 monthly. Veronica and her husband have five grown children and live in Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur.
Veronica has applied for a loan of PHP 15,000.00 from GDMPC in order to buy materials to repair her display area and to purchase additional food processing items. She joined GDMPC in 2008.
Veronica hopes to boost her income by owning and operating a food stall in the marketplace.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
